Camper Specs

The reason to have a RV/ Camper-Van - would be to go on outings and camp!
So what are the camper specifications for this Van?

This is a list of the original camper specifications from the Westfalia conversion.
(Note: it's possible modifications have been done, that could add-to or take away from this list...)

Westfalia Camper specs (information from section 12)

Fresh water tank = 26.4 gallons
Gray water tank = 18.5 gallons
Black water tank  = 9.6 gallons

Hot water tank = 3 gallons  (This is ran by LP gas)

(2) Aux Gel Batteries (12v)  - Located behind the bench seat.
They will run the 12v power system when the van is not pulled into a 110V power plug.
** Some have updated these to AGM, but the charging system was designed for Gel batteries.

LP Gas tank = 8.5 gallons

Coolbox = ~ 2.1ft/3

Cool box

Aux Heater  = run .12 US Gallons per hour to heat living room (

Generator (located in the rear under the van)
    runs on LP Gas

Beds:

  2 people in roof bed
2/3 people/kids in bench seat bed

Seating:

2 in front,

3 in bench seat.

Kitchen Sink:
The Kitchen sink is located next to the stove with a drop tray located to the right

Stove:

the Stove has 2 burners, and it runs from the LP gas.

Storage:
Lots of storage in Westfalia cabinets

  1. under bench seat
  2. behind bench seat
  3. under cool box
  4. roller cabinet above sink
  5. under drip tray  *this is also where the cabin power and water pump switch are located
  6. draws below the stove
  7. under bathroom sink

Roof Air conditioner:
Living room has a roof Air conditioner that runs on 12v power.
(When plugged in to shore power, converters will convert 110v to 12v)
**  NOTE sometimes the Air conditioner and the power converters will be removed as they weight over 150lbs and with that much weight on the roof, it can make driving a little difficult on windy roads.

12volt Network, 110volt Network:

The 12 Volt network and 110 volt network is a little complicated to understand, so here is what I know:

The 12volt system will be active if the Generation is running or running on the batteries/Alternator.
(IE: not pluged into 110v power plug)

The 12 volts system will run the lights, cool box, (round socket plugs)
** It does not run the 110volt plugins, those only work when plugged into a 110v power plug (30amp) plug.
NOTE: the 12volt/110volt Kiss relay was designed to auto switch between these networks, but most vans have changed this Kiss relay, as they fail, and added a simple switch box, MAKE SURE you set the 12volt to 110volt switch box correctly before plugging into 110V power, you don't want to overload circuits...)
